What does it look like and how is it administered?
Clear liquid to be injected into the vein, muscle, or subcutaneous tissue. A small amount (test dose) is given before the usual dose (IV or subcutaneous).

What are the side effects that I should look out for?

• Fever and chills
• Mild nausea and vomiting usually for less than 12 hours after drug is given
• Allergic reaction—itching, redness of skin, severe chills, shortness of breath, and low blood pressure

• Tiredness and loss of appetite one to 14 days after treatment
• Mouth ulcers or sores one to two weeks later
• May cause lung and kidney injury
• Hair loss two to three weeks later
• Weight loss
• Skin rash, peeling, or tenderness
